Lequin leadership development

The founders

Peter and Marie. The two co-founders who run every senior engagement at Lequin.

Marie Willis and Peter Willis co-founded Lequin in 2003. Twenty three years on, they're still the named partners who scope the work, sit in the room, and stay involved until the behaviour changes.

Why Lequin exists

They started Lequin to do the opposite

Lequin was founded in 2003. That year, executive coaching was still a relatively unknown industry in the UK. There were only a handful of coaching firms operating at senior level. Marie and Peter were already working with senior leaders inside large private sector organisations, and the gap they kept seeing was the same: leadership development that worked beautifully in the workshop room and disappeared the moment people went back to the business.

So they started Lequin to do the opposite. Senior, specialist, hands-on. The named partner who scopes the work runs the work.

Twenty three years later there are 122,974 ICF coaches globally. As the industry scaled, many boutiques moved towards platforms, cohort volume, or competing with the global consultancies. We did neither. We stayed in the senior room. That's the work we built Lequin to do, and it's still the work we do today.

How they work together

The handovers aren't handovers.

Marie scopes every senior coaching engagement. Peter scopes every senior training engagement. The named partner who scopes the work runs the work. That's Lequin's signature operating discipline, and it's been true since 2003.

Where an engagement crosses pillars, a leadership programme that needs both group training and one to one coaching, or a team coaching engagement that surfaces a training need, both founders stay involved in design and oversight. They've been business partners for twenty three years.

The model is deliberately small. There's no partner-pitches, juniors-deliver pattern. The two people you meet on the discovery call are the two people in the room with your leaders.

Where to start

Most engagements begin one of two ways. Both are free or fixed price. Neither starts with a sales pitch.

Option one

The 30-minute discovery call

A 30-minute call with Peter or Marie, depending on whether you're closer to the training or coaching question. We ask eight questions about your leadership challenge and what's happened so far, then send a written summary within 48 hours, including whether we think we're the right fit.

Option two

The £1,500 pilot workshop

A 90-minute online workshop for up to 12 of your leaders. Choose one topic from our list. We lead the session, your people take part, you watch the work. If we're the wrong fit, we'll tell you and you keep the materials. Most pilots happen within 6 weeks of booking.
